Antistiana Incrocio Manzoni
14,50 € – 39,00 €
This is the fourth harvest of the Incrocio Manzoni, a little-known variety in our country that Joan Milà “discovered” and fell in love with on one of his many trips to Italy. This is a variety called Manzoni Bianco or Incrocio Manzoni, originally from the province of Treviso. In fact, it is a cross between Riesling Renano and Pinot Blanc carried out by Professor Luigi Manzoni and which was one of the most interesting results after a series of different cross-tests, carried out in the middle of the 20th century. with the aim of identifying new grape varieties that could complement those already existing in the Veneto area.
This variety stands out for the complexity provided by pinot blanc and the aromatic strength of riesling. Well-crafted wines result in complex, aromatic wines with a great ability to age. It’s a matter of trying it out!

Characteristics
Vinification: Manual grape selection, destemming, and gentle pressing at 0.2 kg/cm² in a pneumatic press, achieving an approximate yield of 50%. Static settling at low temperature in underground tanks for 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with yeast inoculation at a controlled temperature of 15ºC. Fermentation lasted 20 days. After racking to remove the coarser lees, the wine was left on its finer lees for 6 months. Tartaric stabilization was carried out by cooling the wine, followed by light filtration and bottling.
Aging: Aged on fermentation lees (sur lie) for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, following the style of the great white wines from Loire and Chablis. This aging process enhances the wine with mannoproteins from yeast autolysis, contributing richness in aged aromas and remarkable taste complexity.

Sommelier note
Bright straw yellow. Fresh aromas, fresh fruit, white flowers, expressive. Full-flavoured, fruity, good sourness, balanced on the palate. (Peñín Guide 2015)
A spectacular fusion of Mediterranean countryside and Atlantic character in a wine that surprises with its deep balsamic freshness and extreme elegance. The Incrocio Manzoni shows in this captivating and enigmatic wine by bewitching wine palate from the first sip, enveloping it in fruit and white flowers, aromas of rosemary and waves of saltiness. Land, sea and air combined as fundamental elements for an essential wine. (Xavier Nolla)
