Wines without oak aging

Young wines are the first to be released. They are bottled during their first six months of life. They represent the most sincere expression of fermented must.

With intense colors, their aroma and taste remind us of the fruit that made their production possible: the grape. That’s why we describe them as fresh, light, and sparkling wines—a feast for the senses.

Antistiana

Estate Wine Collection

Antistiana gives its name to a small collection of single-varietal wines made from grapes sourced from a single plot.

These wines express the personality of a variety, the uniqueness of a terroir, a microclimate, and extensive winemaking experience.

Petrea

Only from the best vintages

The word “Petrea,” evoking stone, suggests a type of oak, structure, quality, and longevity.

Through these wines, made from the best grapes and only in the finest vintages, and with the collaboration of artists like David Ribes, Josep Maria Casas, Marisa Carrió, Jaume Amigo, or Carmen Bueno, each bottle becomes a true work of art.

Thus, unique and distinctive, each of the different vintages of Petrea wines is labeled with a reproduction of a painting specially created for the occasion.

In 2002, we were pioneers in producing the first bottles of a new origin-designated wine category, which led to Clàssic Penedès.

We are proud to have promoted this exciting new project, deeply committed to the region and recognizing the production of great wines in Penedès.

Sweet wines

Solera wines

Mas Comtal’s sweet wines are generous, the result of a project that began with the 1993 harvest, coinciding with the start of a new phase for the family estate.

These are sweet wines, made from the Merlot variety, vinified following the methodology of fortified generous wines; the must has been partially fermented and then fortified with wine alcohol in the same aging barrel.

Annually, small quantities are produced and aged in 225-liter barrels following the “Solera and Criadera” system. This is why we speak of a wine from a 1993 Solera.
